Thank You....We are a non-profit organization awaiting confirmation of 501(c)(3) status.
We will be streaming videos of some masterclasses, rehearsals, lessons, and performances live from Italy so that our sponsors from overseas can see and feel what it is like to prepare music for a concert or operatic stage, witness the complexity, the level of skill needed, the work, and the cost. For those wishing to come to Italy, we open our doors to our donors such that they can come to concerts and lessons, as well as to dine with the students and faculty as part of an auditor program. Opera is a huge undertaking, and those that stand in support of it from the outside and behind-the-scenes are every bit as important as the musicians themselves. For every donation, we would be delighted to provide a detailed record of how your contribution is used in support of education, learning, opportunity, empowerment, and beautiful music. We are seeking to fund or partially fund the tuitions of a number of applicants to this year’s festival training program featuring two fully-staged operas with orchestra. Our program provides emerging artists and talented undergraduates with professional-level musical coaching, training, linguistic preparation, on-on-one work with orchestral conductors and stage directors, and the opportunity to to perform an entire operatic role on an international stage. This is a vital opportunity for students who are at a level where they need to transition from being students or paying singers, to professionals who can not only begin to earn a living from music, but also prepare a resume necessary to teach at the higher levels in the field. So competitive is the world of “classical” or bel canto singing and opera that it is not uncommon for talented and skilled singers, most often women, to continue paying to sing lead roles into the 30’s. We also offer internship positions to graduate students looking for a career in collaborative piano, stage direction, and orchestral conducting. In particular, we seek to promote women in these roles, something which just a few decades ago was unheard of. We offer scholarships to women, female orchestral conductors, singers of exceptional merit, and those from economically diverse countries and neighborhoods for whom the cost of tuition is a particular challenge. Thus far we have had applicants from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, India, Australia, China, Canada, Italy, and the United States. |
