Conductor and Collaborative Pianist Apprenticeships

Our Academy has room for up to one conducting and two piano apprentices who have a special interest in operatic coaching and conducting, and who have already spent significant time honing those skills.

Our pianists and conductor will work alongside Raffaele Cipriano, Jim Meredith, and Kristin Roach, as well as one-on-one with students in the capacity of  répétiteurs and collaborative accompanists, to develop the art of operatic coaching and orchestral direction. Focus will be placed on tempi, collaboration that meets the specific technical (and psychological) needs of singers, but which balances rehearsal time with the professional demands of creating a unified presentation and interpretation. 

As well, you will be permitted to watch voice lessons and attend all masterclasses to learn more about the capacities, techniques, repertoire, and diction of bel canto singing, as well as ways to work with  and coach singers.

Pianists and conductor join our program for the rate of room, board, and nominal administration fee at: $2,500 for 3 weeks, including all the other program offerings (language classes, discussions, Feldenkrais method instruction and meditation, etc.).
